It also has disc brakes for added safety, while the Lite features a 5,200 mAh battery, 20 km range, and drum brakes.

We also noticed that the 4 Lite is lower and shorter, so beginners will find it easier to handle. However, the pneumatic tyres on the Lite are the smallest in the series at 8.5 inches, compared to the standard’s 10-inch tyres, which can affect the ride quality a bit.

But, if you’re a speed enthusiast, you might want something that offers more thrill, like those ultra-fast scooters hitting 80 km/h (looking at you, EMove RoadRunner Pro), but keep in mind that you’ll be paying way, way more for that extra speed.

As for power, we found the 4 Lite’s 300W brushless motor, maxing out at 600W, quite decent. It allows you to tackle 14% inclines easily, so hills won’t be an issue. Plus, with a 187Wh large-capacity battery, the range reaches up to 20 km on a full charge and this easily covers your standard commute or quick errands.

We also love how Xiaomi has included an intelligent battery management system (BMS) in this model. However, we still recommend following all the terms for keeping your battery protected.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite comes with a dual brake system featuring a front E-ABS and a rear drum brake. It’s a solid setup for casual riders and offers decent stopping power when you need it. But if we’re being honest, we do wish it had a disc brake instead. Disc brakes tend to have snappier, more precise stopping, especially at higher speeds, and would give a bit more confidence, especially when you’re riding through busy streets. That said, for everyday commuting and regular use, the current setup gets the job done.

The 8.5″ pneumatic tires on the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite are pretty great, particularly at this price point. They provide a nice balance between comfort and performance, as they absorb small bumps and cracks in the road much better than solid tyres would. 

The Electric Scooter 4 Lite has quite decent handling and ride quality. We really like that the brand has included non-slip silicone grip handlebars as they make you feel more secure and give you better control while riding. Plus, we love that the deck has been widened by 5mm, giving you a bit more room to stand steadily making the ride feel much more stable and comfortable.

Now, here’s the thing—there’s no suspension system, which means the ride can get a bit bumpy, especially on uneven surfaces. We wish it had that added cushion, but for an entry-level scooter at this price, it’s not surprising. Fortunately, the pneumatic tyres do a decent job of absorbing some of those bumps, making the overall ride smoother than we expected.

For starters, we found the lack of suspension to be a bit of a letdown—it makes the ride a little bumpy, especially on rough roads. We’d also prefer a higher water resistance rating, just for extra peace of mind in wetter conditions. And while the drum brakes are more durable, we’re not huge fans since they don’t give the same sharp stopping power as disc brakes, especially when going fast. For everyday commuting, they do the job, but if you’re after a quicker stop, a scooter with disc brakes might be a better option for you. 

We believe that the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite is definitely worth the purchase if you’re looking for a budget-friendly, entry-level scooter with solid performance. It’s lightweight, portable, and has good power with a top speed of 25 km/h. While it has some cons like lack of suspension and disc brakes, its pros like a sturdy build, pneumatic tyres, and affordable price-tag outweigh them and make it a great value-for-money scooter.

If you’re a casual rider in need of a user-friendly scooter that’s light on the pocket, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite is great for you. It’s perfect for riding in the city and running errands as it’s lightweight and has decent speed and range.
