Construction & Build Quality

 Sitting on nine-inch dual-density non-pneumatic tyres, the raised footboard provides a sturdy yet versatile feel. A set of shock absorbers fitted to the front stem, ensures comfort and stability while riding over bumpy surfaces.

The frame is tough as nails, and is constructed out of Aircraft grade aluminium alloy.

The single-push fold mechanism is a clever design that counters the mobility issues from its extra weight. Overall, the Ninebot E45E electric scooter build provides a firm, balanced and comfortable ride to seasoned and new riders alike.

Deck

One of the highlight features of this e-scooter is its wide deck.

The Ninebot Segway E45E features only one front shock absorber, and for this we think the manufacturer could have done better. Even so, the electric scooter’s nine-inch form-filled tyres help to provide a smooth ride over uneven terrain.

As stated earlier, the efficiency of the brake system on the Ninebot E45E electric scooter is second to none. Created with an emphasis on user safety, this electric scooter comes fitted with an electronic and regenerative front brake, and a rear magnetic brake, both working independently to produce the shortest braking distance possible.

Ride Quality

For a comparatively tall scooter, the ride is surprisingly comfortable. The front-wheel suspension, together with the dual-density non-pneumatic tyres, provides the same feel as air-filled tyres on both flat and rough surfaces, making for a smooth ride.

The weight from the battery unit on the handle provides the scooter with much-needed balance.

The footboard is layered with a dimple-textured rubber surface for maximum grip—even if you’re not wearing rubber soles.

Portability

At 36.2 pounds (16.4 kg), the Ninebot E45E can be somewhat burdensome when carried for long distances. However, the single-fold mechanism and the overall design allows riders multiple options for easy transport.

Despite its weight, the Segway E45E’s clever design negates the need to carry it,  as you can also easily fold and drag it.

Lights

A bright 2.5W front light will ensure that your visibility is never compromised, even on the darkest of streets. On the side and rear, the revered E-mark reflectors provide much-needed visibility at night.

This e-scooter even comes with a colour-adjustable ambient mood light on the bottom of the footboard, that will turn heads as you cruise back home after a day at the office.

Controls & Display

The easy-to-operate LED control in the middle of the handlebar displays remaining battery charge, speed, ride mode, and Bluetooth connectivity.

We also liked that the super-handy Companion App which provides useful data such as mileage, average speed and current remaining distance.

Water Resistance

The Ninebot E45E has an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which means it’s highly unlikely that its components will be affected by splashing as you ride around.

However, please note that elongated use in the rain or soggy environments may damage your scooter. Additionally, the warranty on this product does not cover water damage. As such, you are better off shelving it on rainy days.

Reliability, Warranty & Customer Support

Nothing defines reliability better than the Ninebot E45E electric scooter. A 28-mile (45 km) range means you never have to worry about running out of juice during your daily commute.
