A medium-powered machine built to withstand all sorts of conditions and abuse, and with a maximum speed of 31 mph and an impressive range of up to 31 miles.

Arguably one of the best value-for-money electric scooters that we’ve placed our hands-on, the Kugoo G2 Pro provides you with everything necessary for a safe and comfy ride. It has superb features and functions, including a powerful motor, exceptional suspension, dual disc brakes, and an extensive 624-watt-hour battery. This scooter makes for an excellent companion for your daily commute or occasional off-road driving.

Kugoo G2 Pro: The Lowdown…

One of the most significant selling points of the Kugoo G2 Pro electric scooter is its powerful 800W DC brushless motor, the best quality motor manufactured in Germany. When paired with the 48V-13Ah battery, the scooter can reach blazing speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph) in just 13 seconds.

The G2 Pro is a multi-purpose scooter. Whilst it’s not primarily meant for off-roading, it still takes on rough terrains like dust, dirt, sand, gravel, pebbles and rocks. The scooter also has a 15-degree (26.8% grade) climbing range, so it should tackle most hills relatively effortlessly.

This incredible electric scooter has been built with durability in mind. A strong aluminium-alloy frame and a unique scissor structure can support a maximum load of 130 kg (287 lbs.). Besides, its excellent suspension comes prepared for dynamic and aggressive riding on any street or road, no matter how rough it may be.

The all-terrain scooter delivers much more than a bold look and feel. It offers a remarkable combination of large, air-filled tires, built-in shock absorber springs, and a wide platform covered with a rubber mat to ensure a smooth, rich, and pleasant ride.

Kugoo G2 Pro Summary

The Kugoo G2 Pro may be popular in the UK for its insane value for money, but it’s certainly not a toy. Its aluminium-alloy frame is designed to support a maximum load weight of 130 kg. But that’s not all! It’s built to last, with high-quality elements that can handle a lot of harm.

There are two secrets behind the scooter’s 50 km/h and 50 km range: its motor and battery. The 800W motor is paired with a 48V-13Ah battery configuration. The result is a relatively budget-friendly scooter that’s not just a great commuting companion but a good choice for fun rides.

Overall, the G2 Pro is rugged and versatile with a well-balanced set of features that gives it an edge over its competition. It caters for comfort and security, whether for cruising in the city or on uneven surfaces. This makes one of the best electric scooters for anyone looking for an advanced, feature-rich machine that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Top Speed & Acceleration

The official top speed of the Kugoo G2 Pro Electric Scooter is 50 km/h (31 mph). This figure is derived from actual lab tests and backed by several user reports. Whilst a few owners have reported a top speed of 45-48 km/h (28-30 mph), the average from numerous data points is generally above 50 km/h.

That being said, the scooter is responsive, and its acceleration is admirable. Since the acceleration is gradual, you shouldn’t expect to reach the full speed right off the gate.

    Hill Climbing

The Kugoo’s G2 Pro electric scooter model has a maximum climb angle of 15 degrees. Although it performs well, it’s not a certified hill-climbing beast. So if you’re looking to conquer the steepest of hills, you better look elsewhere.

    Battery & Range

The Kugoo G2 Pro uses a 48V-13Ah-624Wh battery to deliver a maximum range of 50 km/31 miles on a single charge. Now, keep in mind that this range is only achievable under ideal conditions. In most cases, the mileage can vary depending on the rider’s weight, terrain, slope, temperature, and whether the tyres have been inflated to the manufacturer’s specifications.

A few user tests have reported ranges closer to 47 km/29 miles. However, most independent user tests have confirmed a range close to 50 km/31 mi. As for battery charge time, it should take around 4-6 hours to charge using stock chargers entirely.

    Motor Configuration

This Kugoo scooter is a rear-wheel-drive scooter. It integrates the 800W BLDC hub motor into its rear wheel. This motor is manufactured in Germany and boasts only the best, premium quality.

      Performance Overview

The Kugoo G2 Pro electric scooter is one tough cookie in terms of sheer power and general performance. With its 800-watt engine, you can reach speeds of up to 31 mph within just 13 seconds! A 48V-13Ah battery further makes it possible to drive up to 31 miles with a single charge.

The G2 Pro is a rear-wheel-drive scooter with three-speed modes – Eco, Standard and Turbo – each coming with its own speed limit. You can always switch modes to add stability on the road, especially when making a turn.

Kugoo’s G2 Pro is practically an off-roader, even though it’s not marketed as such. Even its physical appearance alone can tell you that this is great for a casual ride. For example, the scooter’s suspension has a ground clearance of 18 centimetres, meaning you should have few problems going over small obstacles on the road.

Additionally, this electric scooter brings 10-inch pneumatic air-filled tyres with a wide profile and deep patterns. These can absorb the unevenness of most terrains pretty comfortably. And that’s not all – the scooter comes fitted with front and rear shock absorbers that further smooth out any bumps and keep annoying vibrations at bay.

      Construction & Quality

Kugoo’s G2 Pro is a perfect illustration of a thoughtful design. From its frame structure to industrial design, the e-scooter oozes quality. Its frame is built from a verified aviation-grade aluminium alloy material, which means it can survive a lot of abuse. In turn, it’ll give you a lot of mileage without any significant defects.

The scooter’s quality construction also translates to a confident, dominant and stylish look. You’ll be sure to attract passionate glances from those passing by as you cruise down the highway.

      Suspension & Comfort

A dual-spring suspension system with built-in shock absorbers makes the G2 Pro very comfortable to ride. Its suspension provides a high ground clearance of 18 centimetres. As a result, the e-scooter can drive over any type of street or road, no matter how bad the obstacles are. Sidewalks, cracks, and potholes are no match for the G2 Pro.

Notably, the scooter’s front and rear shock absorber springs do much more than helping smooth out the bumps. They also minimise vibrations, thus increasing the scooter’s service life.

      Ride Quality

As stated above, the Kugoo G2 Pro electric scooter comes equipped with everything you may need for a comfortable and rich ride. Firstly, it’s a rear-wheel-drive scooter, which means it’s very stable on the road. For an even more comfortable ride quality, it features a nifty combination of front and rear shock absorbers, wide air-filled tyres, an excellent suspension system and lots of power.

This combination allows the scooter to soak any bumps thrown its way. Lest you forget – the G2 Pro gives you all these features at an affordable price!

      Lights

The Kugoo G2 Pro’s main LED headlight is located beneath the stem, just on top of the front wheel. This headlight shines a very bright light at an approximate distance of 8 metres/26 feet.

Because the front light is so intense, it proves handy for those planning to ride at night. A red LED brake light rests atop the rear fender and turns on when you use the brakes.

Finally, the electric scooter also features red diode reflectors attached to either side of the deck. The deck strip lights add a casual touch to the scooter.

      Braking

Kugoo’s G2 Pro electric scooter has dual disc brakes; a disc brake at the rear and another at the front. They work to dissipate heat and prevent brake fade. Both brakes already come set at high responsiveness to ensure a smooth and reliable braking performance. From our test, the e-scooter achieved a braking distance of about 4 metres/13 feet.

Be careful not to engage the front brake fast as the scooter could tip over, especially when moving at high speed. Always engage the rear brake first and then the front one if necessary.

      Portability

At 23 kg/50 lbs., the Kugoo G2 Pro is lighter than most e-scooters on the market. Nonetheless, the scooter is still on the heavy end of the spectrum, so it may not be easy to lift and carry over long distances.

When folded, G2 Pro measures 46 cm long, 18 cm wide and 20 cm high. Its folded size is not exactly small and will occupy some significant space.

      Tyres

The non-compact 10” pneumatic tyres are a huge positive for the G2 Pro electric scooter. These tyres come with deep patterns that grip better both on asphalt and on beaten paths.

Because the tyres have a wide profile, they ensure dynamic and aggressive riding on pretty much any surface. It’s worth noting that the scooter’s tyres are of the high-quality Yuanxing brand, and their ideal pressure is 30 PSI.

      Deck

The Kugoo G2 Pro has a reasonably comfortable deck, measuring 20.32 cm (8 in.) wide. Sure, there are e-scooters with bigger decks, but this is certainly more generous than your average model. As if that’s not enough, it’s designed to extend upwards into a footrest in the rear. This is intended to make it a bit longer to fit even bigger riders.

We loved that the scooter’s deck is covered with a drainage rubber mat for a smoother and more ergonomic grip on those rainy days.

      Controls & Display

Conveniently located at the centre of the handlebar is the HD Intuitive LCD display. The screen is large enough to see its information, even under bright sunlight.

      The screen displays a host of information, including;

      • Current speed
      • Battery status
      • Odometer (distance and trip)
      • Lights status
      • Error codes
      • Voltage

On the scooter’s left handlebar, there is the rear brake lever as well as all the buttons and controls for:

      • Power
      • Settings
      • Light button (red)
      • Horn button (yellow)
      • Plus/minus buttons
      • Menu button

The brake lever for the front and the thumb throttle for acceleration is located on the right handlebar.

      Water Resistance

The Kugoo G2 Pro has an IP54 standard, meaning that it’s resistant to dust and water. Riding through some rain or wet weather should pose little or no issues.

However, it’s best to avoid soaking the scooter in too much water as that may cause damage.

      Reliability, Warranty & Customer Support

The Kugoo G2 Pro is a very reliable scooter that has a focus on durability above all else. It has been engineered with the sole purpose of withstanding much harm.

The scooter is backed by a generous 12-year warranty that covers most parts. There’s also a 6-month warranty on the battery and charger.

Depending on where you buy your machine, you can enjoy return periods of up to 14 days if the scooter arrives damaged or if you’re not satisfied with your purchase. You also get excellent lifetime customer support from Kugoo.

      Known Issues

Kugoo offers an app for its scooters. Unfortunately, many users have reported that the G2 Pro cannot connect to it. Other than that, we didn’t find any other pressing issue worth noting.

      Maintenance

The Kugoo G2 Pro electric scooter will last longer and give you excellent service if you:

      • Charge it regularly
      • Avoid overcharging
      • Keep it clean
      • Avoid riding in the rain
      • Inflate the tyres according to the manufacturer’s specification
      • Check bolts and parts before heading out

Kugoo G2 Pro: Is it worth the money and is it worth buying?

      Absolutely!

The Kugoo G2 Pro electric scooter is all about value for money. This mini-vehicle gives you a powerful motor, a large battery, remarkable suspension, and dual disc brakes, all at a price that will never hurt your wallet. Scooters with the exact specifications and performance as the G2 Pro will often cost double.
