If you are looking for a mid-range electric scooter that won’t make a hole in your wallet, then consider getting the INOKIM Quick 3. It’s a premium electric scooter that has several features you won’t see in most budget models.

INOKIM electric scooters are known for their high-quality build that is meant to last for a long time. The company behind it was one of the pioneers in the electronic scooter industry and was in the business way back in 2011. Back then, the INOKIM brand was known as MyWay. During its launch a few years ago, this INOKIM Scooter had two variations — the now discontinued Hero variant and the still in production Quick 3+ Super.

This Inokim electric scooter review will look closer into the different features and components of the INOKIM Quick 3 and analyse whether they are proportional to its lucrative price tag.

Inokim Quick 3 Summary

INOKIM is a brand known for producing robust scooters that last for a long time. Quick 3 is very reliable and has very few issues. The handling is excellent, especially when turning on corners. Since it’s not the cheapest of scooters, it’s comforting that you’re getting some of your money’s worth from its long lifespan.

Many of the scooter’s proprietary parts are produced in-house by the manufacturer. The unit is also water-resistant to some degree and has an IPX4 rating. The cables and other smaller pieces are not flimsy and have excellent craftsmanship.

In addition to its power features, the D6+ also comes with well-thought-out safety features. First, it boasts a sturdy frame built from low-density aluminium alloy and a long and large deck for enhanced stability and comfort. Second, the 10-inch pneumatic off-road tyres deliver unmatched traction and rolling efficiency on any terrain. Add to this the C-type dual-spring hydraulic suspension into the mix, and you can understand why this beast can manage even the bumpiest of roads.

INOKIM Quick 3 has one of the best build quality in the mid-range category. There are very few reports of crucial parts breaking during their service. The aircraft-grade aluminium alloy body is quite sturdy and can take on a few hits without being deformed.

Performance Overview

At the centre of the INOKIM Quick 3 is a 450-watt brushless motor mated with a 36 volts, 13 Ah LG Lithium battery. This combination gives the scooter about 1,000-watts of peak power to reach impressive top speeds and fast acceleration.

Top Speed & Acceleration

The INOKIM Quick 3 has a relatively fast acceleration of 5.5 seconds from 0 to 15 miles per hour. Its motor can also provide enough torque, which, combined with its acceleration, allows it to climb slopes with a 10-15 percent incline.

Moreover, you can find the Accelerate thumb button at the throttle. You can use this to speed up during your ride. You can also find your current travel speed, the speed mode you selected, and much more on the LCD next to the throttle bar.

According to INOKIM’s spec sheets of this model, the Quick 3 has a top speed of 19 miles per hour. Further customizing the scooter can increase this top speed. Compared with its other competitors in the mid-range category, Quick 3 is the quickest in the bunch.

This no-frills scooter also has three-speed settings that limit the top speed of the scooter. The lowest setting is at 6 kph, while the highest setting is at 20 kph.

Battery Life & Range

The INOKIM Quick 3’s range varies depending on several factors such as average speed, the weight of the rider, and road conditions. The official numbers that INOKIM released say its range is around 20 to 25 miles. Consequently, some testers and reviewers could extend its range to 28 miles on a single charge.

The scooter uses a Kickstarter instead of a push start button. The model also has a cruise control system that takes care of several driving factors, limiting the top speed. The average charging time of its batteries is around 6 to 7 hours.

Motor Configuration

The INOKIM Quick 3 uses a combination of 450 watts brushless motor and a 36 volts, 13 Ah Li-ion battery. Its motor can produce a peak output of 1,000 watts which provides ample torque and acceleration.

Consequently, the motor is surprisingly quiet even when running at its top speed. The motor is also relatively protected, with a layer of aluminium on the deck.

Construction & Build Quality

INOKIM scooters are known for their robust and sturdy design. The manufacturer doesn’t cut corners and uses top-quality materials. The brand also used its proprietary aluminium-alloy wheels, which can only be found on Inokim products.

Suspension

This fact might surprise you, but the INOKIM Quick 3 does not have a suspension. Hence, its ride quality is not on par with scooters that have one. While the Quick 3 offers a smooth ride on flat terrains such as roads, it doesn’t provide as much comfort on other surfaces.

Because of the lack of suspension, the scooter has limited ability to absorb shocks from potholes, road debris, and uneven road terrain. Hence, you will feel the vibrations of any ditch or small humps.

Ride Quality

The overall ride quality of the INOKIM Quick 3 is a mixed feeling. On the one hand, the pneumatic tyres and cruise control allow it to run smoothly on flat roads. Unfortunately, the lack of a suspension system means it can be pretty shaky when passing through potholes and rougher terrains.

Meanwhile, this scooter can handle slopes with up to a 15-percent incline. Any terrain with a higher gradeability and the rider will struggle. Consequently, this scooter does not have off-road capabilities, which most people would look for in its price range.

Braking

The INOKIM Quick 3 has a front V brake (braking pad system) on its front wheel and a mechanical rear disc brake. You can activate the brakes using the right and left levers on its handlebars. Both can be adjusted to fulfil your driving needs and preferences.

This scooter has plenty of stopping power, whether it’s for emergency purposes or to halt the unit. A regenerative braking system would make a lot of difference for this scooter to increase its battery economy.

Portability

One of the advantages of owning the INOKIM Quick 3 is its incredible portability. At just 36.4 pounds, it’s one of the lightest models in the mid-range category. If you have a modest build, it’s easy to tuck away and carry in just one hand. You can also use the carry handle to secure the folded unit while on the go.

The unit is easy to fold and has adjustable handlebars, which is great if you’re a tall rider. This scooter also has a quick-release M button that locks the handlebar in place. Applying the correct pressure will instantly release the mechanism and allows the user to fold the unit.

Water Resistance

This scooter has a water resistance rating of IPX4. It can resist water splashes from all angles and can handle infrequent or drizzle. Additionally, you can drive it over wet ground and even in misty weather.

However, just because it has some resistance doesn’t mean you should use it during rain. If you ever find yourself caught driving under the rain, the best course of action is first to find shelter and wait until the rain stops before resuming your travel.

Lights

This scooter has two lights. First is a reflective headlight that sits above the front v-brakes. The other lighting is a red brake light with reflectors that are placed in the rear mudguard.

Overall, these lights provide enough visibility during your night ride. Adding one or two more light sources by modifying your vehicle or wearing reflective gears can also increase your road visibility.

Tyres

The INOKIM Quick 3 is equipped with 10-inch pneumatic tyres, which use Myway Quick’s (their former brand name). Pneumatic tyres are great because they are grippier and have better traction on the road. They also can absorb some of the shocks brought by uneven terrain.

For best results, the INOKIM user manual suggests sticking to air pressure between 35 to 40 psi. Repairing a blown tyre is a breeze since you can easily unscrew the nuts using a 19 mm ring key.

Deck

The INOKIM Quick 3 has an ultra-wide aluminium board with anti-skid grips that offer a comfortable standing position. The deck also has a hole on the side that serves as a carry handle.

INOKIM is also selling a separate and optional adjustable seat. You can attach the seat by screwing it with a bolt in one of the deck’s slots.

Reliability, Warranty & Customer Support

The INOKIM Quick 3 comes with a limited one-year warranty covering the battery and other manufacturer defects. You can call their US-based retailer for any issues related to your scooter. You can also refer to the user’s manual for a repair guide and usage tips.  FluidFreeRide, the brand’s official USA retailer, can also ship your orders or replacement parts within the continental USA.

Other Similar Scooters

INOKIM Quick 3 has very few competitions in the mid-range category. Below are a few e-scooter models that you may consider as alternatives:

  • SpeedWay 3 is almost the same price and has a more powerful motor. The charging time is much shorter at just 2.5 hours, while its cruising speed is faster at 25 mph.
  • Turbowheel Dart is much cheaper and has a larger motor. Its top speed is slightly better at 25 mph, while its range reaches further at 30 miles a single charge. However, this scooter has smaller 9-inch tyres and has a load capacity of only 250 lbs.

As a side note, INOKIM has also updated the Quick product line and has recently released the INOKIM Quick 4. The new Quick scooter has a better top speed, more range, and faster charging time. INOKIM did a great job addressing all the Quick 3 and releasing a fresher and more stacked Quick 4 model.

Accessories & Upgrades

The INOKIM Quick 3 has a few accessories to its name. It has a thick-ended kickstand that can support the vehicle and keep it in an upright position. The scooter also has anti-skid grips to keep your feet from sliding away from the deck and provide better stability.

Moreover, it also has mudguards to keep the water and mud off your tyres and yourself. Its digital LCD screen shows relevant data such as battery level, trip distance, speed mode, cruise control, error status, and lights.

This scooter is available in multiple colour schemes such as classic black, white, dark orange, and the best selling colourway, light blue.

Known Issues

There are quite a few known issues about the INOKIM Quick 3. Aside from having no suspension, the scooter also does not have any off-road ability.

Is this E-Scooter value for money and is it worth buying?

The INOKIM Quick 3 is a decent choice for a mid-range scooter. If you want a daily commute scooter with more range and top speed than budget models, it surely won’t disappoint.

With an expansive aluminium deck, big wheels, and remarkable portability, it’s an upgrade from entry-level scooters. However, do consider that it has a few weaknesses, such as slow charging speed and the lack of a suspension. Overall, the INOKIM Quick 3 has a few strong value propositions that you should check out.
